Myra Pearce, The Ghosts of Yellowstone
Scott Prinzing
Billings Outpost
Myra Pearce lives on a ranch near Billings with her family and her horses, and writes her songs (all but one here was written or co-written by Ms. Pearce; one with Montana’s Kostas). These 10 story songs are the strongest collection she’s released to date. There’s yet another ode to her home state, “I’ve Got Montana,” the haunting title cut, “The Journey,” a love story written from an American Indian’s perspective, the humorous, Dolly Parton-esque, “Oops! There Goes Another Man,” the hit-potential, “Redneck Man of Mine,” and the bilingual “Goodbye Adios” (although she sings, “My Spanish ain’t that good.”). The clever lyric of “Just for the Fun” name drops a dozen classic country songs. The Kevin Red Star painting, “Crow Warriors at Pryor Creek” is included as part of the cover art. Produced by Mike Noble and Royal Wade Kimes in Nashville. www.MyraPearce.com
